West Raozan, Chattogram, Bangladesh
Client: Kalamuddin Chowdhury Raozan Resort, nestled in a serene and verdant locale approximately 35km from Chittagong city, is surrounded by natural wonders, including internal lakes, fruit orchards, diverse trees, and contoured landscapes. The resort boasts a range of amenities, including hotel rooms, various cottages, a restaurant, clubhouse, conference hall, gyms, swimming pool, outdoor game zone, children's play zone, amphitheater, dormitory, picnic spot, lakeside boating, fishing, deer park, bird sanctuary, and fruit garden. Moreover, the resort is equipped with state-of-the-art security and illumination systems, a helipad, and a parking lot with car wash facilities. The design of this resort is primarily based on Site Forces, as the site features hilly contoured land with a lake (an extension of the Ragamati area). Cottages are strategically placed around the lake, while other buildings are thoughtfully positioned along contour lines, respecting existing trees. The land's turf surfaces are enhanced with additional green vegetation, minimizing hard paved areas. Notably, the resort prioritizes sustainability, aiming to produce most of its required food resources through an on-site dairy farm, poultry farm, and vegetable gardens. This holistic approach reflects the project's goal of creating an ecologically balanced and sustainable design.
